Reviews and Testimonials
Reviews Summary
Users generally like Flud+, praising its lightweight design, reliability, user-friendly interface, and powerful features, though some express dissatisfaction with speed issues, connection problems, and the lack of support and updates.
I've had the plus version for years and always loved it, but don't use it a ton. I tried using it today and it turns out that the app no longer supports downloading via proxy only. No matter what settings you use under Network and privacy/security, the app continues to make unsafe connections outside the proxy. They say feel free to send an email for help, yet there is no email listed in the app store, in the description, or in the app itself. So I can't get assistance, either.
Lightweight torrent app that does it's job almost perfectly. Dropping one star because, although I've configured it to remove a download once I've uploaded the same amount of data, it fails to do this. Minor issue, I've been using it for years and don't plan on changing to another app anytime soon.
The free version of Flud was downloading several items at speeds of over 2-3 mbps. It was rare that an item downloaded at less than 1 mbps. I liked it so much I paid for Flud+. But since installing it and moving all of my current downloads to it from the free version, each item barely hits 40 kbps. Moved them back over to the free version and the speeds went right back up to 3 mbps. That's a ridiculous drop in speed for the "premium" version. Money wasted. I don't understand.
The best torrent app around. Long time user, tried many others, but always continue to use Flud. I am a bit uneasy about the fact that no updates since 2017. But really I have not had a single serious issue in more than 5 years using this app. Yes, the interface takes awhile to get use to, and often I still struggle to find a particular setting that I know is there, but where? :) So, hey, software developers certainly do see the world through their own eyes. Don't you?
After many years, I still love this app. I have a request, though. I would like the option to have all downloads paused on start-up in case I am on a metered or work network or something. That feature would also be helpful if I had moved a file from a large torrent. I could quickly uncheck that file from downloading before resuming the download.
update: Adjusting the queue is certainly appreciated, but rather than up and down arrows, would you PLEASE impliment drag and drop reordering?? With a large queue, the up/down arrows are VERY tedious and not nearly as user friendly. original: The advertising on the free version is so small that it not even noticeable... But this app is so good at what it does that I felt compelled to spend, what equates to chump change, to support the developer.
I previously gave Flud a lower rating but since then it has improved. Very reliable and compared to other torrent linens for Android it is the best. Update January 1, 2020: This application simply is the best torrent client I have used, and I've tried many other clients. FLUD is very flexible and easy to configure, and includes a lot of really useful features that other torrent client app don't have. Highly recommended.
Used to like it but having connection issues with private trackers and some public ones. Just sits there never connecting. I tried reinstalling as well as a fresh phone when I upgraded. Not sure what that is about but I have been in the torrent scene since it began and haven't had this problem with any client. I am currently using a different app for torrents. Flud+ will hang and never even download the data from a magnet link, but when I use the other it will fire right up, no issues.
I got a challenge for FLUD+ ... When installing FLUD+, it should migrate the files from the ad-supported FLUD. My work-around is to continue using the ad-supported version. FLUD's advertisements are very unobtrusive, so that's not a problem. And my purchase of FLUD+ helped to support the excellent project. If I were more experienced, I'd probably know how to migrate the files, myself, into the Plus version. Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a coder.
Thank you VERY much for the addition of TWO GREAT new features: 1) The option to set Sequential Download as a default in Settings. It eliminates an otherwise VERY repetitive step. 2) The function that attempts to retrieve metadata PRIOR to adding the new download via Magnet. VERY NICE. These two new features, in and of themselves, have great impact.
