MX Player

Ive been a long time fan, UNTIL Amazon bought MX player. Now it is less than average as a player. The ads are relentless. If you hit pause, there's an ad. An ad that plays like a commercial, I'd wager which uses more memory, let alone the aggravation. What sours me most is that they used to give you the option to purchase MXplayer pro to remove the ads. That was awesome. Now, you just get to enjoy the misery of unrelenting ads. It's a shame.

Been using MX player for 10 years. It has been my go to video player for years. It was great before but slowly it has become unusable as time passed. But final nail in the coffin was when MX removed their ffmpeg library which people relied on for playing video with AC3,DTS,TRUEHD audio codec(most of good quality movie, series contains these audio codec). Now it's just a random video player that can't play movies or series or any videos that contains these audio codec.

I really like this app it plays all my videos very smoothly. Slow down speed up, video zoom and a-b lock are the features I use the most. MX player?? More like ADX player. It used to be under control, but now an ad wants to pop up every time you enter it. Also, the ads that pop up when you pause are not cool!! That is where I draw the line! Get it together, and maybe I will start using the app again.

No app can beat MX Player. Absolute control on every aspect of the video, any screen ratio and crop. Customize the captions. Reminds me a lot of Media Player Classic on how much customization and ease of use there is. They are running a ton of ads though, while bothersome, I won't rate it down as long as it doesn't show during playback (it does on pause though). It should have a pro purchase option to get rid of the ads. Seems like decent policy to your customers.

I'm giving this 5 stars because it plays DVD files perfectly which is what I was initially looking for. Just so everyone knows who may be confused on what the file extension is that allows you to watch the movie, it's "VTS_02_1.VOB" that you have to select if you're trying to watch files from a DVD. This app shows screenshots of the files too which I like because it makes selection easier. Also, the app automatically goes into landscape mode so you don't have to do it manually for viewing.😎

I really hate that I'm FORCED to go through a couple of ads when I'm switching from one track to another. I understand ads pay the devs, but they can make it less intrusive. I'm only keeping it cause the A-B play feature, but I'm looking for nother. An app shouldn't annoy its users, I can only take so much.

I've been using your app over the years, Wonderfully fantastic, until recently, i don't really know when but... the app tends to repeatedly switch Decoders until it hits Software and then Crashes. seeing as I've used this app for 5 years+ i would like to ask if anything can be done about this? I'll currently be looking into a substitute video player for the time being, i just wanted to bring attention to the issue. this isn't only present with downloaded videos eithers, but Recorded ones as well.

*Edit* I recently wanted to use this while mirroring from my Samsung to the TV and the picture is not full screen like it was a few ago when I used to do this. I wish this could be fixed. This app reads subtitles better than my stock video app. Works with almost everything. Using a custom Codec solves certain audio formats not working.

The old interface was better. Until recently we could switch from the old to the new. Sadlly, the new interface doesn't give me the option to shuffle songs (on my Android phone). So I've reduced my rating from five stars to three. But if you don't mind not being able to shuffle songs, MX is one of very few players that continues to play when minimized or when you turn off your phone's screen. That's the only reason I'm keeping it. Now I'm looking for one that does that AND allows song shuffling.

The new private folder has some problems. When adding videos from my sd card they got transferred to the phones internal memory. When I "unhide" them the files dont transfer back to the sd card. Now the hidden videos in my phones memory cannot be moved anywhere else. I cant even find the files when connected to a Windows PC to transfer them out.
