Simple Gallery Pro

Needs a "restore to default settings" option. I fat-fingered something and I'll be damned if I can get it back to how it was. Great app for 90% of the things one needs a basic gallery app to do. An ability to crop images and resize pics would make it the best one for up until you need advanced Photoshop-type photo editing.

Removing a star because it's a bit buggy for me these days, maybe because I have tens of thousands of photos. Hope they haven't stopped developing it. Overall a good replacement for your phone's built-in gallery app though. Does everything you want it to, plus more, and usually does it smoothly with little fuss. Easily worth the tiny price for the pro upgrade, though the old free version mostly worked fine too.

Was delighted with this app and all it does so very well. Recently I started migrating photos off devices to a USB connected SSD storage using the device files app. Now the Simple Gallery Pro app won't recognize any non-device storage or folders. Last updated 2023. I've emailed support, no reply. Emailed again today. As much as I really really like the app, I may have to use a other one if I can't get help.

Great gallery app been using for years. Lately it won't delete pics unless I delete individually and then I have to have them skip the recycle bin. Used to work when Google photo deleted it it would delete from gallery too. That doesn't work either. I need to be able to delete pics. I take a lot of pics with my phone. I love app but this is a deal breaker please fix !! Last update 10/23 maybe they are done and it's time for a new gallery app...gonna have to look. Need to be able to delete.

Used to be amazing, but now it's crazy sluggish (folder viewing, not image viewing). I don't know if it's a picture count thing or what, but I only have a couple thousand photos. When I delete a folder or picture, it takes forever to actually get deleted. The recycling bin takes even longer to show up. And sometimes other folders will vanish for a bit and reload after the recycling bin. It's so weird. Something changed months ago. Ruined the app.

My edits are no longer being saved. With all the options for this type app, this one is pretty good. If you really want this app to stand out and be easily the best photo storage app in the play store you need to add the ability to have folders in folders. Being able to custom arange folders would be nice There are a couple other apps that have these feature but the rest of their interface is nowhere near as nice. Widget only opens the same folder no matter where you select it to open.

My goto photo app. When I switched from a Samsung phone to Google pixel, I missed the included gallery app. Google's "photos" is terrible and I don't want it linked to the cloud. I tried lots of different apps and finally found this one. It has everything I need - simple grid layout, image folders with custom sorting. The only downside is that it takes a few seconds to refresh new photos when opening the app. I wished this happened in the background so the initial experience didn't feel laggy.

I'd give 5 stars except for 3 bugs and a few wishlist items. Sometimes upon opening the app, it's blank and takes 20-30 seconds to load anything. Some PNG files don't have thumbnails but view fine. Lastly, the exif data sometimes doesn't disappear when tapping to go full screen. WISHLIST: thumbnail view that shows pics in original aspect ratios but with nice even gaps not big gaps due to square shaped holders, HDR view support for HEIF files. Everything else is great so far!

Finally, I found a gallery that allows me to display all my photos fullscreen. No more big black bars around the sides. No more awkward gyrations needed to get the image to fill the screen. The aspect ratio mode is wonderful! In addition to this great feature, I've found the app to have a great amount of customization. And the best part is, the author is VERY responsive and actively works on the app for continuing improvements. Bravo! EDIT: Now if it just could include the new AI features!

This app is one of my staples for my phone, but the slide show feature is now a hit or miss (75% miss) for it to work. When you click the "ok" button in the slideshow dialog window, then it behaves as if you are pressing the screen twice. The first activates the slideshow, but it immediately stops the slideshow before it starts. I observe that at the times that it does not work,I see the controls disappear (as expected) but only for a split second before they come back in view (not expected).
